Works for me, though I ultimately needed to install the mod NVAC (New Vegas Anti-crash) and NVSE. It locks up or crashes occasionally though. I use a Win 10 gaming laptop and it works fairly well. ![]() The updates are just something you have to live with. New Vegas and FO3 work fine for me on Win10 without mods. I'm just curious why Steam seems to be downloading some kind of internal information about FNV so frequently when it doesn't do it for any other of my games.Īnd for the record, Windows 10 H22, modern system, no other issues of any kind. The default Steam Fallout New Vegas installation directory for Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout New Vegas Drag & drop the DirectX DLL to the above location and you're finished you will have to provide administrative authorization if you have UAC enabled (as you should). This breaks most of the mods made in the last 12 years since NVSE will not work and no one will pick it up and make it work, let alone JIPLN, NVTF, NVAC, Johnny Guitar, Stewies Tweaks, etc. When I check the dates, nothing has changed since the last time I played the game at the start of last year, so these "updates" clearly aren't actually updates at all. The EPIC Games, and XBOX Game Pass versions of Fallout New Vegas (and Fallout 3) have been recompiled. This is nothing to do with the game itself.
